Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE), which began trading on Monday, issued guidance on November 12 that enterprises engaged in preschool education or private tutoring on academic subjects are not allowed to get listed on the bourse.

The document also stressed that issuers who belong to finance or real estate enterprises are not supported to file to go public on BSE.

The so-called “double reduction” policy announced in July, which is to ease the burden and anxiety for students and has a slew of measures to regulate the private academic tutoring to K-9 students, said existing academic subjects-based tutoring providers have to register as nonprofits, and cannot raise money in the public market, adding that investment in such companies by listed companies is also prohibited.
