Dumaqi, a Shanghai-based edtech startup providing little kids with enlightenment programming robots, announced recently that it has raised millions of yuan in an angel round of financing from CoreValley Capital.

According to the company, the fresh capital will be used for product development and channel expansion.

“What children aged 3-9 need to learn programming is not technology, but the ability to think, and build the ability to break conventional patterns and solve problems in an  innovative way.” Said Wang Yichen, co-founder of Dumaqi.

After 5 years of technology R&D and curriculum design, Dumaqi has established a complete enlightenment teaching system that is more suitable for Chinese children. It adopts block-based coding which enables children to learn from the logic layer, not the technical layer.

Meanwhile, it works without phones or computers and won't affect children's eyesight. In addition, relying on the international advanced STEAM education concept, it has developed a curriculum suitable for kindergartens and elementary schools.

Currently, the robot has entered the mass production stage and is sold in the United States, Shanghai, Beijing, and other places.
