Kognity, a Sweden-based edtech startup, announced recently that it has raised $5M in a venture round of financing led by Mars Growth Capital, a joint venture between MUFG and Liquidity Group.
According to the company, the fresh capital will be used for further growth in their U.S. high school science business and to expand its product offering for customers worldwide.
Founded in 2014 by Hugo Wernhoff and Nicholas Johansson, Kognity offers a digital teaching and learning platform for Cambridge IGCSE™, the IB Diploma Programme and High School Science, which provides interactive textbooks, analytics and assessment support – all in one place.
In January 2022, Kognity has acquired Elite IB, a localised and online support for IB & MYP students and schools with tutoring, revision courses, content provision, university consulting.
The company currently claims that it product has reached teachers and students in over 1000 schools and over 100 countries.
