The technology allows pilots to experience the cognitive loads of physically flying airplanes while capturing the value of synthetics by enabling them to enter realistic, scalable, simulated training in the most dynamic of outdoor environments. The ARCADE system employs virtual reality to define, build, brief, and de-brief the training environments that users experience through ATARS. This allows users to precisely define the threat environments they will fly in and conduct a level of post-flight re-play and analysis that has until now been impossible. This fully immersive environment combines biometrics, flight data, and user inputs to improve the speed and efficacy of de-briefing.
