South Korea-based Mathpresso raises $8m from KT Corporation to develop LLM for edtech
Mathpresso, a South Korea-based edtech company, has received US$8 million from Korean telco giant KT Corporation in a strategic investment deal, according to Tech in Asia.The funding will be used to develop a large language model (LLM) for education, which will be used for its AI tutoring services, as well as expand into the US.Qanda is a learning platform for K-12 students to use optical character recognition to scan text and math equations from photos and provide solutions. Mathpreso also offers Qanda Study, a live large classe platform, and Qanda Tutor, a one-on-one online tutoring platform.Mathpresso has more than 80 million registered users in over 50 markets, most of whom coming from outside Korea, including Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand.
