DFRobot Announces Series B Funding Round to Advance Maker Education

DFRobot, a Shanghai-based edtech company, announced it has raised tens of millions of yuan in Series B funding round led by Cash Capital.

Founded in 2008, DFRobot focuses on R&D and production of open source hardware and robots. It has developed more than 1,000 products and served over 100,000 makers. Ye Chen, founder and CEO, said the latest funding will be used to advance maker education, as well as provide services for 30,000 schools in the upcoming years.

The startup has been into STEM and maker education market since 2013. It has served over 20,000 teachers and hundreds of thousands of students in more than 8,000 schools across 200 countries.
