Zenius Education, an Indonesian edtech startup, announced it has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Northstar Group, a Singapore-based private equity firm. Kinesys Group and BeeNext also participated.
The company also appointed Rohan Monga as CEO. He has served as the chief operating officer at ride-hailing unicorn Gojek since 2015.
The latest round will be used for business growth, technology development, and services expansion.
Founded in 2004, the Jakarta-based startup provides elementary to high schools students with learning solutions based on understanding concepts and scientific reasoning.
The company claims it has a total of 80,000 learning videos and thousands of practice quizzes, and has served over 12.8 million users throughout 2019.
