IT Education Platform 51CTO Secures $20M in Series C Round

51CTO, a Chinese leading online education platform focusing on IT skills learning and practicing, announced recently its Series C round of financing with 20 million USD led by Gaocheng Capital. According to Xiong Ping, founder and CEO of 51CTO, the funds will be used for further R&D of online content, meanwhile, building an ecosystem with partners to support customers’ demand on digital transformation and skills upgrade.

Founded in 2015 by a group of experienced IT professionals, 51CTO now has more than 3,000 teachers and partners with about 17 million registered users, of which 6 million have completed their career advancement. Having four major products covering different tracks including employment training, knowledge payment, on-job e-learning and MOOC for universities and colleges, the company aims to help enterprise IT managers upgrade their technology management ability and empower students to study in a more efficient way, moreover, enhance the entire IT level in Chinese enterprise. 

As for ToB business, 51CTO serves more than 1,200 vocational colleges and over 150 companies through two types of service consisting of curriculum design and course resources supply. Currently, the courses have been introduced by top enterprises in China such as China Unicom, China Merchants Bank, and 21Vianet Group.
