Online Tutoring App Snapask Announces $35M Series B Round to Expand into Southeast Asia

Tutoring app Snapask recently announced $35 million Series B funding round led by Asia Partners and Intervest, bringing its total funding to more than $50 million, according to Tech Crunch.

The Hong Kong-based platform currently operates business in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and South Korea, where students have to attend competitive public exams to enter top universities. It will continue to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, and expand into Vietnam market.

Founded in 2015 by Timothy Yu, Snapask offers tutoring services to students. Based on machine learning-based technology, the platform matches students with tutors on students’ demand.

CEO Yu says, Snapask now has three million students, and 1.3 million of them registered over the past 12 months.

Snapask raised $15 million in Series A round led by Xie Zhan two years ago.
