Indian online learning platform Unacademy has recently acquired startup PrepLadder for $50 million, according to TechCrunch.

Founded in 2016, Chandigarh-based PrepLadder offers courses aimed at medical students for competitive medical exams providing relevant content. The company has never secured capital from any external investors. More than 80,000 users have subscribed its platform.

Founded in 2015, Bangalore-based Unacademy helps students prepare for competitive exams. It raised $110 million in a Series E funding round in February, and has accelerated growth during the national lockdown.

“Unacademy and PrepLadder are working towards the common goal of making quality education accessible to all. We believe that the synergies between both products will truly create a mark in the industry,” said PrepLadder co-founder Deepanshu Goyal.

Unacademy is also in talks to acquire online learning solutions provider Mastree, according to the Morning Context.
