India's Recruitment Platform Apna Bags $8 Million to Help Blue and Grey-Collar Workers Find Jobs

Apna, a Bengaluru-based platform which helps grey and blue-collar workers find jobs, has raised $8 million in a Series A funding led by existing investors Lightspeed India and Sequoia Capital India. This round also saw participation from new investors Greenoaks Capital and Rocketship VC.

Founded in 2019, Apna provides a platform to help blue and grey workforce to access professional opportunities. The app comprises vertical communities for skilled professionals like carpenters, painters, and field sales, enabling users to access local job opportunities, network with peers, share their accomplishments, and gain new skills.

Within a year since its inception, Apna has more than 1.2 million users on the platform. 

The startup plans to use the new capital to accelerate growth by expanding to more cities in India, hire more talents, and launch new offerings.
