On October 16th, the 2020 China-Philippines Educational Exchanges Seminar was held by 51Talk(NYSE: COE), one of China’s leading online English education platform.

Huang Jiajia, the founder and CEO of 51Talk said at the event that the company is ready to provide jobs for another 30,000 Filipino English teachers this year.

And to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in the sector of online education, a total of 100,000 Filipino English teachers will be recruited in 3 to 5 years.

Since 2012, 51Talk has started to focus on localization and set operation headquarters in Manila to better select, train, and manage Filipino English teachers. As of now, the company has provided more than 20,000 jobs to Filipino English teachers.

There are already seven teacher training centers in the Philippines and a localized operation team of more than 1,000 staff, and most of them are Filipinos. Moreover, 51Talk has also built a huge R&D team to develop management tools and learning resources, enabling teachers to achieve self-learning through the online platform.

This year, 51Talk has witnessed the number of active students on its platform exceeding 300,000. Huang believes that Filipino English teachers will be the first choice considered by Chinese online education companies.
