Finnish early education provider HEI Schools raises €2 million in Series A funding co-led by Practica Capital and Tesi, Finnish Industry Investment.

The new financing allows the company to open more learning centers in different countries, accelerate the growth of the digital offering of curriculum programs and teacher training to reach millions across the globe.

HEI Schools, which was founded in 2015, provides Finnish brand of research-based early education globally. The company is offering Learning Centers, Toolkit and Teacher Certificate.

The HEI Schools Learning Center is a license model offering everything from curriculum materials, teacher training and a peer-to-peer teacher community to a set of learning materials and learning spaces based on Nordic architecture and design. The company opened 14 learning centers and 16 more will be lauched in 2021.

The HEI Schools Toolkit product serves preschools or kindergartens around the world as a monthly subscription service. Forty preschools are currently subscribing the digital curriculum.

HEI Schools Teacher Certificate is available to any individual teacher or entire schools for their staff, and this self-paced online program rewards participants with a University of Helsinki certificate in Finnish Early Childhood Education upon completion. 200 teachers from 30 different countries attend the program.

HEI Schools has already been present in China, Australia, Indonesia, Korea, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Finland. In addition to current markets, 16 new HEI Schools centers will be lauched during 2021 in the USA, Canada, Kuwait and Thailand.
