CoLearn, an Indonesia-based edtech startup, has raised $10 million Series A funding led by Alpha Wave Incubation (AWI) and GSV Ventures, with participation from existing investors, including Sequoia Capital India’s Surge and AC Ventures.

The fresh infusion of capital will be used to invest in product, technology, development, hiring, and marketing.

Launched in August 2020, CoLearn said it provides a convenient and affordable alternative for traditional offline tutoring in Indonesia. The highlight of the company is an AI-powered problem-solving feature that helps in removing the friction that comes with offline tutoring centres, providing students with access to instant homework support.

The company also expects to train more than 200 trained teachers over the next two years to supplement offline learning, particularly in STEM education.
