Yueyang Learning, a Beijing-based edtech startup, has recently raised RMB 20 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Ameba Capital, with participation from Yunqi Partners and China Growth Capital. The proceeds will be used for its further growth.

Founded in February, Yueyang Learning was incubated by Xiaoyang Edu, an edtech firm that provides smart campus and education cloud solutions to middle and primary schools.

Different from Xiaoyang, which targets K-12 schools, Yueyang builds a SaaS platform to focus on outdoor education and competency-based education out of school.

The company launched version 1.0 of its HIBL (hands-on inquiry-based learning) platform in April to help service providers in the sector with problems regarding students’ safety, mentors, and courses, as well as to help training centers acquire new customers.
