Paper raises $100 million Series C to sell tutoring software to more K-12 schools

Paper, an online tutoring provider based in Canada, announced that it has raised $100 million in a Series C round led by IVP, with participation from Framework Venture Partners, Bullpen Capital, Reach Capital, Birchmere Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, BDC Capital, ETW, and other investors.

Founded in 2014, the company offers tutoring software to K-12 districts and schools in the United States and Canada. Its software allows students to request live tutor help, which can then be delivered in four languages across 200 subject areas. Students can also get writing feedback and study support on demand. The software also helps teachers and administrators to gain insights into learning gaps and where support is needed. 

Paper told TechCrunch that its grew its team members from 30 to 130, and has also grown 40x in revenue over the past two years. In the last year, it has also grown from 100 tutors to 1000 tutors.
