CLASS101, a Seoul-based online education platform, has closed $25.8 million Series B funding led by Goodwater Capital, with participation from existing backers Strong Ventures, KT Investment, Mirae Asset Capital and Klim Ventures, bringing its total funding to $36.5 million.
Established in 2018, Class 101 offers more than 2,000 online video courses across a variety of hobby categories including illustration, digital drawing, music production, crafts and lifestyle. Class101 prepares a materials kit containing everything participants need to take a course.
As of August 2021, there are approximately 100,000 registered creators and 3 million registered users on the platform.
Co-founder and CEO of CLASS101 Monde Ko told TechCrunch that the company will use the proceeds to hire more talent, as well as expand domestic business and overseas markets in the U.S. and Japan.
