Chinese authorities prohibit minors from getting tattooed

Credit: unsplashOn June 6th, the minor protection department of the State Council issued a document stressing that “any enterprise, organization, and individuals” should be barred from providing inking services for minors. Coercing, tempting, and instigating children into getting tattoos are also expressly prohibited. Additionally, the document encourages parents to dissuade their children from getting inked and stresses that professional tattoo parlors, as well as medical and beauty agencies providing tattooing services, should display signs refusing minors, and ask customers to show ID cards to confirm their age.Moreover, the document said that any enterprise, organization, and individuals should be barred from posting content that induces minors to get tattooed, including but not limited to books, newspapers, and electronic publications.
