Budapest-based education technology company BOOKR Kids has completed a €6.1 million Series A round led by TCEE Fund IV, with participation from Leib Lurie of Kids Read Now, SchoolDay chairman and CEO Robert Iskander, Finland's Infinit Capital Oy, and Hungarian angel investor Albert Sárospataki, chairman and CEO of Billingo.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Budapest, BOOKR Kids builds digital tools for reading, language learning and literacy for schools and families. Its flagship product, BOOKR Class, helps children improve English language acquisition, reading comprehension and literacy skills, and also offers German and Hungarian courses.

BOOKR Class provides an interactive animated library where children listen to stories narrated by native speakers, tap words to see their meaning and pronunciation, and complete exercises in vocabulary, grammar, speaking and reading comprehension. Teachers can assign books and tasks as homework and track student progress through a dashboard.

The product is sold to schools and districts through annual licenses, while parents subscribe directly. According to the company, BOOKR serves more than 600,000 paying learners and works with over 3,000 schools across more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. Revenue in 2025 was about $2.7 million with positive EBITDA.

In China, BOOKR targets local parents' demand for original-English reading. Its animations preserve the rhythm of printed books while layering in dynamic, interactive design — for example, post-reading consolidation through interactive mini-theater exercises. BOOKR entered China in April 2024 and, by June 2025, had served more than 100,000 Chinese families, according to its WeChat account "BOOKR Reading."

With the new funding, BOOKR plans to expand across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas through partnerships and distribution channels, and to launch BOOKR Next for students aged 10–18 as well as BOOKR Phonics for early literacy.

"With mature partner networks in markets such as Turkey, the UAE, Jordan and China, BOOKR has built a geographically diversified revenue base rather than relying on a single home market," said Barnabás Vincze, investment manager at 3TS Capital Partners, which advised on the transaction.

The raise adds BOOKR to a busy 2026 for language-learning startups: Preply secured €127 million in January for AI language tutoring; SpeakBUDDY announced a new round the same month; BeConfident raised $15.8 million in February; Lucida AI took $7 million in June; and Medly AI closed $8 million in August.
