On August 27, global learning company Pearson (LSE: PSON) launched the official PTE AI practice tool, an AI-driven product designed to help candidates prepare for the Pearson Test of English (PTE). PTE is widely recognized by governments, universities and employers worldwide for assessing English ability in study, work and life contexts.
The official PTE AI practice tool replicates the real exam's timing, question types and scoring. Candidates receive a diagnostic of their current listening, reading, speaking and writing levels and targeted guidance from an AI tutor that shows their weak points and how to improve. It supports both PTE Academic and PTE Core.
Millions sit high-stakes English exams each year as a step toward university admission, jobs or visas, and a growing share prepare independently, often on mobile devices. The tool offers official practice with scoring and feedback aligned to the exam's rubric.
"For candidates, walking into the exam confident is essential," said Sharon Hague, Pearson's president of English Learning. "They need real feedback, a correct understanding of the standards, and clarity on what to focus on. We built the official PTE AI practice tool to help them target exactly what to improve, with an AI tutor guiding them throughout; a global leaderboard also shows where they stand among PTE learners."
The tool is live in China and India and will roll out to more markets globally in the third quarter of 2026. It is free to start, with additional practice available through flexible paid plans.
Pearson employs about 18,000 people and serves customers in nearly 200 countries with digital content, assessment, certification and data services.
