Tech Talents Training Platform Gebeya Closes $2 Million Seed Round

Gebeya Inc, an Addis Ababa, Ethiopia-based edtech and online software outsourcing marketplace company, announced it has raised $2 million in a seed round investment led by Partech and Orange Digital Ventures, with participation from Consonance Investment Managers, according to its Linkedin post.

Founded in 2016, the startup provides training programs to nurture young African tech professionals.

Over 600 tech talents has graduated from Gebeya, and more than a third of them have been matched with startups across Africa and the rest of the world. Gebeya already has a presence in Senegal, Kenya and the US. 

The company plans to scale up its training and marketplace services in Francophone Africa as well as launch its online African talent marketplace. Through the Digital Gender Ethiopia Program, it will train a total of 250 aspiring female software engineers.
