JoysKid, a Beijing-based start-up focusing on coding education for children from 7 to 16-year-old, announces today its new round invested by BE Capital, with the amount undisclosed. According to the company, the newly funded capital will be used for brand promotion, teachers’ on-job training, as well as talent recruitment. Prior to this deal, JoysKid has completed its angel round invested by Song Junbo, the founder of EEO, which provides online classroom product known as ClassIn.

Founded in 2017, the company takes “online 1-on-6 small-size class” as the teaching mode, providing Scratch, Python and C++ curriculum according to the standards set by CSTA.At present, JoysKid embraces students coming from 23 countries and regions, with a renewal rate of 86% and a referral rate of 91%.

JMDedu has mentioned in our previous article: “When investors started to be more rational and the to-venture-capital model (instead of to business or customer) no longer works, the industry is suffered from a continued decline in 2019 and has seen many companies close down.” For the whole industry, JoysKid’s new round of financing injects more confidence into the kid programming track but players still need to face the challenges of “less rigid-demand and few exports”.
