According to crunchbase, Mad Science is a leading science enrichment provider for children from 3 to 12-year-old. The company recently announces its A round of financing with tens of millions of yuan. The investors include Befor Capital, Guojin Capital, Yonghua Capital, and Shanghai Fengqian(上海千凤). Sophie Huang, the founder of Mad Science, suggested that the fund will be used for upgrading campus service and teaching experience, as well as the rapid expansion of online products. Before this deal, Mad Science has raised investment from famous capital ventures like EdBeta Fund, Guojin Capital and Yonghua Capital, and Eastern Bell Capital.

In the Chinese market, Mad Science's courses are delivered in English by foreign teachers or taught bilingually in English and Chinese. Now, Mad Science has covered more than 25,000 schools in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Among them, Shanghai has nearly ten franchise campuses.

In 2013, Mad Science officially tapped into China and continued to localize and advance the curriculum based on Chinese students’ characteristics. The Chinese team also established a complete science curriculum system that has more than 500 course topics. 

Additionally, scientists at Mad Science have added a maker space in the offline learning center with 3D printers, laser cutting, and other new technical equipment to let children design and create products by themselves. 

This year, the company launched the “Mad Growth Folio” report,  a self-developed child growth evaluation system offering personalized, visualized "science skills" and "soft skills behavior" growth assessment reports to students at Mad Science. It also helps parents and children to clearly understand the knowledge of different subjects and their learning progress. After this round of financing, Mad Science will fully launch the OMO strategy to guide the diversified development of scientific learning scenarios.
