ClassTag Secures $5M Seed Round to Connect Parents and Teachers

classtag.pngClassTag, a New York-based parent-teacher communication platform, has raised $5 million in an extended seed funding round. AlleyCorp, Contour Ventures, Founder Collective, John Martinson, Newark Venture Partners, Smart Hub and, TMT Investments participated, according to TechCrunch.

Founded in 2015, ClassTag serves as a platform that connects parents and teachers. Teachers can use the platform to communicate with parents, schedule parent-teacher conferences, and share resources. Parents can use it for information on events, field trips, and fundraisers. ClassTag is able to translate announcements into different languages.

ClassTag’s revenue comes from advertisements by educational and family-friendly companies. The company claims that 2 million users across 25,000 schools in the United States have used its platform.

School communication tools designed to connect parents and educators continue to attract investors. ClassDojo raised $35 million, and Possip secured $1 million last year. ClassTag raised $3.6 million this past February.
