NetEase Witnesses a Share Rise on its First Day of Trading in HKEX

On June 11th, NetEase Inc carried out a secondary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The shares opened at 133 Hong Kong dollars, an 8% increase compared to its issue price at 123 Hong Kong dollars.

Before this, NetEase had passed the Hong Kong Stock Exchange hearing on May 29th and launched its public offering in Hong Kong on June 2nd with 171,480,000 new ordinary shares, which raised it $21.09 billion Hong Kong dollars.

Ding Lei, the CEO of NetEase, also launched a new product — NetEase YouDao Dictionary Pen Pro. The new pen involves translation for Japanese and Korean, Oxford Advanced Learner’s English-Chinese Dictionary 7th edition, and the audio pronunciation. It also allows users to look up words by pronunciation. Moreover, Ding Lei said that the company would give away the pens for free to English teachers nationwide as the second listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
