Chinese Leading K-12 Edtech Zuoyebang Secures $750M E Round

Online education platform Zuoyebang announces today its E round of financing with 750 million dollars led by Fountainvest Partners and Tiger Global Management, with Qatar Investment Authority, Sequoia Capital China, SoftBank Vision Fund, Tiantu Capital, and XiangHe Capital also participating.

According to Hou Jianbin, Zuoyebang’s founder and CEO, the latest fund will be used to continuously develop course services and products, as well as explore new business models.

Starting as a phase of the Q&A website Baidu Zhidao in 2014, Zuoyebang now is a platform where scholars can seek answers to study-related problems, and also supply method to peers who are trying to find assistance, as well as the live-streaming courses. 

At the current stage, Zuoyebang has become the largest online education platform for K-12 users in China, with a total number of cumulative active users exceeding 800 million. Its DAU is more than 50 million, and the MAU is over 170 million.
