Edtech startup Juni Learning has announced a $10.5 million Series A led by Forerunner Ventures, with participation from AME Cloud Ventures, Index Ventures, and Pear VC.

Founded in 2017, the San Francisco-based company offers live computer science, math, and English courses for students aged 8 to 18 years old through private and small-group classes.

According to San Francisco Business Times, in the few months following the COVID shutdown, Vivian Shen, the co-founder and CEO of Juni Learning, said the startup taught 50,000 live classes to kids 8 to 18 — a surge compared to what it previously offered.

Series A closed in February, and the funding was used to expand the team and hire 300 student instructors to meet a surge in demand. The startup is also planning to grow its international presence.
