Byju's has recently announced it has raised $500 million in a new round of funding led by Silver Lake along with existing investors Tiger Global, General Atlantic, and Owl Ventures.
The company's valuation at this round was $10.8 billion, according to TechCrunch. It was valued at $10.5 billion in June when it raised funding from Bond.
Byju's initially helped students prepare for competitive exams, and then has expanded to offering learning services for students ranging from pre-kindergarten to the 12th grade.
Byju's claimed it added 20 million new students since the the national lockdown began. And now its app has more than 64 million registered students and 4.2 million annual paid subscriptions. The company also doubled its revenue to $373 million in FY 2020.
The company also acquired WhiteHat Jr for $300 million in August.
