China-based Runde Education Focusing on Medical-Vocational Education Closes A Round

Runde Education, specializing in healthcare and pharmaceutical education and training services, recently announced that this August that it has raised nearly 100 million yuan in a Series A round of financing from SAIF Partners. The latest fund will be used for investment, mergers and acquisitions, talent recruitment, and the research and development of intelligent teaching systems and product development.

Founded in 2012, the company always aims to grow as a national leading medical health vocational education brand integrating online and offline businesses. Runde Education has developed three online learning applications at the current stage and established 118 directly-operated offline centers in 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities.

Runde Education’s revenue in 2019 was 280 million, which is expected to be around 600 million in 2020. Although facing a large market space, there is still a high-threshold for vocational medical education. According to Qi Weipeng, the founder of Runde Education, “learners at this sector usually have a relatively high level of knowledge, so they have more expectations and requirements for products, contents research and teaching skills.” He believes that online and offline teaching system and standardized teaching and research system are the advantages of Runde Education.
