China Boosts Museum Education for Students in Primary and Secondary Schools

Together with the National Cultural Heritage Administration(NCHA), China's Ministry of Education has recently issued a guideline on enhancing the cooperation between museums and primary and secondary schools across the country to improve student access to museum resources.

Kids usually finish school class at half-past three in the afternoon while most parents have to work until six or even later, making it hard for parents to pick up the kids. So the guideline encourages primary schools to offer museum-related courses on campus after class ended at 3:30 pm.

Moreover, the guideline stresses that museum resources should be fully utilized, asking museums to strengthen online education and promote museum resources' integration into the education system.

According to official data, there are more than 5,500 registered museums across the country currently.
