Multiverse, a London-based edtech startup formerly known as WhiteHat, has recently raised $44 million in a Series B funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Google Ventures, Audacious Ventures, Latitude, and SemperVirens. Existing investors Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participated.

The startup will use the latest funding to hire 200 new employees across the UK in 2021 and launch in New York this month.

Founded in 2016 by Euan Blair and tech entrepreneur Sophie Adelman, Multiverse provides an alternative to university training with its apprenticeship model.

In Europe, the firm has boasted more than 300 clients, including Facebook, Morgan Stanley, KPMG, Fujitsu, Capita, Kantar, Skanska, Citi, and Microsoft.
