Software engineering education company Holberton raises $20 million to provide SaaS services

Holberton, a San Francisco-based software engineering education company, raised $20 million in a Series B funding round led by Redpoint eventures, with participation from new investor Pearson Ventures, as well as existing investors Daphni, Imaginable Futures, Reach Capital, and Trinity Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded in 2015, Holberton started to provide software development education through a offline school in San Francisco, and it has now expanded to 18 schools across different countries.

Building on these Holberton Schools, Holberton today provides a portfolio of programs and tools that customers can pick and choose to fulfill their education mission. Holberton’s offering includes a off-the-shelf franchise model, as well as tailored curricula, auto-graded projects, tools and methods. The service is called “OS of Education' by the company which is pivoting to a SaaS company.

Today, its customers include franchise campuses, education providers like Pearson and universities like Honoris United Universities.
