HexFuture, a China-based start-up focusing on K-12 education informatization and smart education, announces today its 30 million RMB Series A round of financing led by Albatross Venture, with BE Capital, Flyfot Ventures, Xueda Education(NYSE: XUE) also participating. Prior to this deal, BE Capital has invested the company’s angel round. According to HexFuture, the latest fund will be used for marketing promotion, product iterations, as well as in-depth cooperation in terms of education informatization for the basic education stage.

Founded in 2016, the company spent 18 months working with teachers and principals on product development and launched a “cloud classroom platform”. Verified by hundreds of schools, the product was officially marketed in 2018 and has been introduced by over 500 regional demonstration schools covering more than ten provinces across the country.

Under the COVID-19 crisis, HexFuture supports over 100 schools in building up an online teaching platform. As the epidemic recedes, schools in Mainland China gradually reopen but still need to avoid large gatherings. Therefore, some schools combine HexFuture cloud classroom and offline school teaching at present. Specifically, students in the same class will be divided into two groups in different classrooms and watch live-streamed courses via the cloud platform. Teachers will provide on-site tutoring for the two groups by turns.

Moreover, HexFuture as an important partner of Huawei in the education sector, is currently cooperating with hundreds of Huawei government cloud bases nationwide to develop regional business cooperation. In the future, HexFuture aims to upgrade the product as an offline school classroom-based smart education platform for K-12 schools across the country, with the advantages of integrating third-party applications, big data, and value-added services.
