Lambda School, a San Francisco-based online coding school that provides computer science courses, has recently raised $74 million in its Series C funding led by Gigafund, with Tandem Fund and Y Combinator's participation. The funding will be used to meet a surge in demand for its courses, and expand operations and business reach.
Founded in 2017, Lambda School runs virtual 9- and 18-month part-time computer science courses, including data science and full-stack web.
According to the business model, the company adopts that rather than pay upfront, students pay a portion of their income after landing a job. Lambda students have been hired by Google, PillPack (an Amazon company), Uber, Clover, Nexient, Cognizant, and many others.
Lambda has so far raised more than $120 million. It secured $30 million Series B in 2019.
