Abwaab, a Jordan-based edtech startup, has raised $5.1 million in its seed funding round from 4DX Ventures, BECO Capital, EQ2 Ventures, Foundation Ventures, GSV Ventures, and Spartech Ventures. This latest round brings Abwaab’s total investment to date to $7.5 million.

Abwaab intends to use the latest round to expand across the Middle East, starting with Egypt. The startup also plans to invest in its technology to better track its users’ progress.

Founded in 2019, the educational platform enables secondary school students in the Middle East & North Africa to learn different subjects at their own pace. The platform has a library of over 50 thousand video lessons and questions.

"GSV is proud to make Abwaab our first investment in the Mena region,” said Deborah Quazzo, managing partner at US-based GSV Ventures.
