Children in Capital Beijing Set to Return to Kindergartens after Long Winter Break

The government announces today that according to the situation of epidemic prevention and control, universities, primary and secondary schools, and kindergartens in Beijing are allowed to reopen in stages from June.

For timetable and all its details:

Grade 1 and grade 2 students in senior and  junior high schools,  grade 6 students in primary schools will resume classes on June 1st (Monday).

Grade 4 and grade 5 students in primary schools are scheduled to return to school on June 8th (Monday). Students in the rest grades should be prepared to come back to school, and the specific date will be published later.

On June 8th (Monday), kindergartens can reopen with the prerequisite of ensuring children's safety and wellbeing. Parents can decide whether let their children return to kindergartens or not.

Universities in Beijing can reopen after acquiring permission from the Ministry of Education and China’s National Health Commission. Universities can arrange the class of 2020 to return to campus from June 6th if epidemic prevention measures are adopted as required. Other grades' returning date will be determined according to different situations.
