Focusing on Educational “AI+Big Data”, SUNMnet Raises over RMB 100M in B1 Round

SUNMnet, a China-based developer and provider of smart education technology and solutions, announces today its Series B1 round of financing with more than 100 million yuan. This round has been jointly invested by SBI, Zhaoheng Investment, Gene Capital, and individual investors. Duojing Capital serves as the exclusive financial advisor to this deal.

According to the company, the latest fund will mainly be used for the iteration of its higher education products, new product development for universal education, and the talent training for the team.

Founded in 2013, the company always focuses on the education industry. Based on big data's underlying technology and platform, SUNMnet applies a series of functions into one product such as intelligent teaching environment, teaching model innovation, university teaching, and management data collection, teaching quality evaluation, subject analysis, and personalized talent training.

This year, SUNMnet successfully launched more than 20 new products, helping various educational institutions accelerate the in-depth application of information technology. Wang Xiying, Chairman and CEO of SUNMnet, said, “In the future, we will adhere to the deployment in big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and robotics, plus, provide comprehensive and multi-dimensional technology and service support for the construction of the smart campus.”

Yao Yufei, the founding partner of Duojing Capital, said: “Educational informatization is regarded as a means of promoting educational equity. From the upgrading construction of intelligent software and hardware to data and intelligence development, we can see that it is an inevitable trend. At present, the application of big data in education is still in its preliminary stage, and schools at all levels will gradually realize this process.”

As of now, SUNMnet has served more than 1000 colleges across the country, including top universities like Tsinghua University and Beijing University. The company provides big data products to more than 500 colleges and smart classroom products to over 300 schools covering 12280 classrooms.
